Lufthansa’s new business class, with its much-improved fully flat beds, has been flying for just a couple of years on the Boeing 747-8, the next-generation jumbo jet.
I crossed the continents between Frankfurt and Dubai on the 747-8 to properly road test Lufthansa’s Flatbed business class for both daytime and overnight (Dubai to Frankfurt return) legs. Lufthansa’s seats simply aren’t in the same league as its alliance partner Singapore Airlines and its new Business Class Seats on 777-300ER. The Food could have been far better.
The first thing I noticed that I had kind of forgotten about is how much these seats lack privacy and are “exposed.”
I browsed Lufthansa’s entertainment selection, which was pitiful as always. Not only is the selection ridiculously limited, but the quality of the programming is ridiculous as well. I’m pretty sure they get their inspiration for movies from the $5 DVD bin at Wal-Mart. A ONE WAY TICKET FROM FRA-DXB WOULD COST YOU 11,863 EUROS THAT’S THE EQUIVALENT OF $16,259.00 DOLLARS !!! This hardly justifies the Service we receive with the Price we way.
If you start adding in the one-stop options on Gulf airlines Qatar and Emirates, the service disparity becomes even more clear, Lufthansa Business Class has a long way to go and improve upon its quality of services.
