When looking to stay in Chicago and you want a place that offers the best of both worlds, Park Hyatt Chicago is the place to stay. The place has a very upscale feeling as soon as you walk into the lobby. Everyone at the front desk is extremely professional. Park Hyatt seems to treat all their guests like royalty from the moment you step through the doors, regardless on how you booked a room. The rooms are well-appointed, the location is awesome (close to restaurants and shops) and the service is impeccable.
Check-in was painless, yet it should be for the price of the rooms here. You get free bottles of water, free wifi, free access to the spa, an excellent gym with the works, and a pool. Spa treatments are not free but you knew that. The gym is very clean, has plenty of free weights and nautilus machines and treadmills.

The room was very attractive, Zen-like. A huge tub that had wonderful hot water that is temperature-controlled. Amazing for a nice relaxing soak. The room was immaculate with a beautiful view of the water and Michigan Avenue. The hotel is right across the street from Ralph Lauren and American Girl Store. There is a bus stop right across the street from the hotel that takes you down to the Navy Pier and travels along Michigan Avenue. You can purchase a CTA transit card on their website prior to travel. If you want to book the courtesy car a BMW you are better off doing that a couple of weeks prior to arrival through the concierge. We dined at NoMi and the food was Average. The waiters are extremely attentive and professional. We had breakfast and the view is wonderful. The staff at the hotel are definitely well-trained people. Service is impeccable. If you are looking for a luxury hotel this is a great bet. For a special stay, I will be back in a heartbeat.
NoMi is a good restaurant for dinner. I was not too impressed with the lunch. You must however have at least one meal here with a reservation so you get the nice windows on the water tower view. Request the view otherwise you won’t get it.
You are a block away from Bloomingdales, Saks, Neiman Marcus, and Macy’s so you do the math! This is shopping heaven! Also, a stroll of 3-4 blocks takes you to the lake shores where you can walk, run exercise to your heart’s content. There are bike rentals on the coast so definitely take advantage of those.
The staff was amazing. They were beyond friendly. The reception folks were great. The concierge knew our names after our first encounter. Not only did they remember us and our names but they also remembered our preferences for restaurants etc and helped us eat out. The rest of the staff in the hotel always had a smile on their faces, we exchanged several brief conversations, they were always helpful and happy to help.
Overall incredible stay. Well worth the price! What a vacation spot!
