Well, we are here to make your decision that much easier 🙂 If you want a hotel that’s about 5 min walk  from the Convention Center & just a short walk across the pedestrian bridge to the harbor and all its main attractions, you would be saying what we did ” this hotel is perfect “.

Best Hotel For Baltimore:

The Room was not ready when we had arrived however we were told to wait inside the lounge area. Which we mostly dont mind but this time we were quiet surprised with the overall size of the lounge. Its the smallest we have seen so far and we have visited. Over 100+ Hyatt properties with lounges and none were this small. What was even more disappointing was the fact they did not have “Normal/Still” water bottles. As we utilize this the most. We ended up purchasing it from outside throughout our stay. However, even with that we feel this hotel is quiet great solely because of the location, the room cleanliness and size plus friendly staff and above its reasonable price compared to other nearby hotels.

 

We came for the Weekend Getaway and this hotel fit perfectly for us, from enjoying the Inner Harbor Attractions, attending the convention and enjoying local halal food nearby walking distance from the hotel.

]]> Thanks to my work, I have been blessed to stay from $200 Per Night Hotel Room to $22,000 Dollar Presidential Suite. Today, I will give a basic review of what it like staying at a $1,500 Per Night Suite inside the Grand Hyatt New York and its amenities.

We love having “Stay-cation” within our home city aka The Big Apple 🙂 This is a review we are doing on Grand Hyatt New York after having few stay experiences. I do believe having a Diamond/Globalist status does help however we have seen a hit/miss when staying at this property.

 

I bring my family quite often and at times I have had issues where the hotel has run out of “slippers” and other times I would need to make a few calls just to get something delivered to the room. However, I consider this to be a “First World Problem”.

 

Location: You will not get a better hotel than Grand Hyatt NY when it comes to its location. It’s literally on top of  Grand Central Terminal (Historic Station) and can allow you to travel throughout the city without any issues. This is most liked during the time of extreme cold or hot weather.

Lobby: They have a Grand lobby with a vast waiting area, but the staff (bell boys) are not so friendly and you have to ask for help!

Check-In Experience: It varies depending on the time and day – sometimes we breeze through the World of Hyatt line and sometimes it can take 30min to check-in, however, the staff are quite friendly every time we have checked into the hotel.

Rooms: We have stayed from Basic Standard room to Executive Suite and you will see wear & tear because the hotel is OLD and although they try certain rooms can give you a feel of staying at a motel. The suites are also in need of major renovation.

The Grand Lounge/Breakfast: The lounge is great because it offers you free hot and cold beverages throughout the day for free its operating hours are 6 am – 9:30 pm. However the Breakfast and Evening snacks are nice because it’s free, but for people like us who consume only halal meat – the options become very limited 🙁 When the weather is nice – the lounge has a huge deck which offers the great view of the city building while enjoying a nice cup of chai.

Overall – we will come again and stay mainly because of NISHA JOHN – we have had many issues before but since Nisha has become our go-to person when booking our stay – the experience went from Horrible to Amazing 🙂 Hyatt is truly lucky to have someone like her, she is one of the main reason why I love booking my stays at Grand Hyatt NY.

The Winter in New York can be brutal and with freezing temperatures, one would want to escape to a warmer place. We decided to stay at Loews because of the review and recommendation of friends and colleagues. The location and setup of this hotel are amazing, RIGHT on the beach, right in between Lincoln Street (shopping district) and Espinola Way (restaurants). Everything is within walking distance and this made this location superb. The level of service is absolutely wonderful, from the bartenders to the person who brings you room service. The saltwater pool is open 24 hours a day, and you can swim on the beach at 1 AM in the moonlight. Parking Rates are $42 a night. I don’t think you would need a car at all if you’re staying within South Beach, waste of money in my opinion. It is South Beach, nothing is cheap. The Loews is no exception!

We stayed at the Ocean Front Vice-Presidential Suite, it has all the room you need for a great vacation.

This newly renovated suite features more than 900 square feet of living, sleeping, and lounging space, complete with two private terraces showcasing Direct Views of the breathtaking Atlantic Ocean (South Beach). In addition to the King bedroom, the suite also has a full-size sofa bed.

Luxury is everywhere in the Vice-Presidential Ocean Front Suite, from the South Beach-inspired Art Deco design to the soft, plush linens and huge elegant marble baths with a huge soaker tub and double-headed shower.

Two seating areas, one with a full bar and sliding glass door, the other with a more intimate, inclusive setting, perfect for reading or relaxing. After dinner, slip into one of our cushy robes, mix a cocktail, unwind and enjoy your stunning view. It’s entertaining, South Beach style in the Oceanfront Vice-Presidential at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel.

Also, unfortunately, their food is a big disappointment. It was very mediocre, which was a surprise because it was expensive! We tried it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and it never improved. If we stayed here again, we would avoid the Loews restaurants altogether.

There are lots of other great restaurants located nearby (20% gratuity is automatically added to every bill, not just at the hotel, but everywhere in South Beach). This is probably because Europeans don’t customarily tip. But really – 20%! Believe me, the service rarely deserved more than 15%, especially at Preston’s breakfast when you are serving yourself at buffet! Shame on Loews for this.

Each and every staff member we encountered was friendly, courteous and helpful. Since the lounge chairs and umbrellas on the beach are owned by, I don’t know, some company that’s not the Loews, you have to rent the chairs and umbrellas daily, $13 per chair and $15 per umbrella. Internet Service they charged us $15 daily ( This should have been complimentary with the price we pay to stay at this property ).

We wanted to Experience a different Orlando Resorts / Disney Properties and decided to try out Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter. When deciding on picking the room, we were told the Rooms would look like the pictures we observed at there website. (The pictures below are from the site)

Upon Arriving at the resort, we were impressed with the hotel lobby and the decor. There was a huge water fountain in the middle, and the guest services gave us some necklace beads as a welcoming gift. As we entered to the waiting area the desk clerks were all dressed up in character, which is a nice touch. In the waiting are off to the side they had a t.v lounge area for the children. The smalls seats were covered in metallic blue and purple fabrics and for the adults, they had sofas. After checking in and going to the room, the resort seemed to be on point with the Louisiana themed decor. The stairways, and “streets” looked like a scene from a movie. They have very detailed designs on the railings when going to the room.

When we arrived to the room, it was very dim, the room was not lit appropriately, and if this is part of the “theme” extra lighting should be provided because not all guests like the same light. More so, the window shades in the room had to stay closed at all times, therewith there would be no privacy at all, so opening the shades was not an option! Apart from being dark in the room, it was very small and outdated.

The television was very old, the floors were carpeted, which gave it a run down motel look, and the overall feel of the room was not cozy, in fact it was tight and needed major renovations! For the amount we paid for at a Disney resort, the least they could have done was to make the rooms a bit bigger, and update the space- or just opt out and go somewhere else.

Thankfully enough the bathroom was a decent size and maintenance did their part to tidy up the space.

I had paid for and requested special service for my niece in her room with her family, they supposedly had a mix-up and placed the candies/balloons in another room and all I received was an apology and told me they can do it tomorrow! We declined but as an apology, they sent me and my niece’s room balloons that you can obtain from any discount store.

I am not staying here at all, nor would I recommend the place. We were very close with buying into Disney Vacation Club but glad we did not!

The rooms were small, run-down, has an odd odor to them. Really not worth staying here at all, I was very disappointed with my stay and did not enjoy the resort at all!

Carmine’s (NYC Midtown) Review is part of an NYC Weekend Trip.

Carmine’s is a family-style Italian restaurant in the Theater District offering exceptional value to its guests. A perfect location for those staying in Times Square or coming for a Broadway Show.

We had no idea what we were walking upon arriving at the Carmines.  I didn’t realize the portions were family-sized until I looked through the menu.  They bring out bread but it’s best to skip it.  It isn’t particularly good.

We had made reservations, when we entered the restaurant, there was absolutely no wait, and a waiter directed us to our table very quick. Obviously due to the holiday season, the walls were adorned with lights and coral reefs, it was very nicely done. Since it was our first time, the waiter told us that the servings are family size (good thing he mentioned that). For starters, we decided to order the special salad with romaine, arugula, roasted eggplant, and peppers. For the main entree we went with shrimp and broccoli in garlic and olive oil with spaghetti. The servings were indeed very large, it seemed like four people can be filled in one dish. We enjoyed the food very much and plan on going back to try the manicotti hopefully sometimes very soon!

Spending a night in the city sure gets you hungry and you start craving for possibly everything you see on a menu. But when you do, keep in mind; your eyes are bigger than your stomach! And this time, I’m going to skip the starters so I have room for dessert!

We chose to stay at Aria this time! While we usually stay at other MGM properties, MGM owns a whole chain of hotels under the Mlife program, including Bellagio, Aria, New York, Luxor, Excalibur etc. We chose Aria over other Strip Properties this time because:- It’s the newest resort/casino on the Las Vegas Strip, we heard rave reviews from friends, and did I mention its the Newest Resort/Casino on the Strip !!! Upon our arrival at Las Vegas Airport, we had a limo waiting for us to take us to the private entrance and check in area for the Sky Suites ( One Bedroom ). Our Casino Host was awesome, ensuring that we had a truly opulent experience.

From arranging Car Service for us and our friends, making dinner reservations, connecting us with the top nightclubs and best events for the duration of our stay.

The Hotel Staff were among the most professional I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with, and everything was either at or above our admittedly high expectations. The ARIA is able to accommodate every request small or large. The accommodations were exceedingly clean, well designed, and incredibly comfortable. They sure do make an impression, upon arriving in my room there were chocolate covered strawberries, and a hand-written welcome note.

The blinds opened to a glorious view of the Mountains. The beds were truly decadent and a real oasis in the desert backdrop of sinful entertainment.

The main bathroom  has a shower with a steamer in it. There is also a huge soaking tub with jets, double sinks with and a toilet with a heated seat ( this was one of my favorite features of the room !!! ). In the bathroom there are complimentary toiletries in case you forgot anything … 2 toothbrushes with toothpaste, mouth wash, razors and shave cream and of course the standard things that are in any room! The whole suite can be controlled by an iPad type of control but there are also wall buttons in every room for lights and shades.

We oooh-ed and ahhh-ed and gushed over this lovely suite, and I’m glad that things like that excite us. In such moments we are both reminded of how favored we are. Two ordinary people, with ordinary family backgrounds, yet able to enjoy extraordinary delights !!!

Overall this was the best hotel experience we’ve ever had !!!

The Sky Suites are 100% deserving of their 5 diamond rating !!! We will not be staying anywhere else in Vegas after straying here !!!

!!! Perfect for a Weekend Stay in the heart of New York City, Times Square !!! It should be said that all rooms of hyatt are above the 23rd floor which means that you get to be in the belly of the beast and yet sleep soundly. Very new hotel with a boutique feel and a small tastefully decorated lobby.

The hotel is only open a few weeks old so the rooftop lounge and a few other features still are not open. We were the first to stay at the Premier Suite given to us, which was pretty cool.

The Bedroom, Nice Large Comfy Bed. Loved the white comforter that they change between visitors, no germs bedspread. Slightly odd ornamentation above the bed which included a small porcelain figure that looked like a balloon animal !!!

The Hotel offers Great amenities in case one needs it, it’s the small touches that make a 5 Star experience.

The bathroom had a heated floor, which you could adjust. Bathroom had a rain style shower. Cool lighting options. Overall the room design was great.

The suite features a private terrace, soundproofed floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the Times Square area, one king bed, and a 47-inch flat-screen TV. The sleek, residential vibe includes a spacious living and dining area, plus an eclectic collection of New York City-themed artwork complemented by a backdrop of neutral, light-toned fabrics and warm woods. The suite features a modern master bathroom with a rain shower and separate soaking tub.

 

The Negatives would be: The TV is using IP and freezes up constantly which became annoying while watching the Morning news. The Toilet in the bathroom was not functioning well, required at least 3-4 flushes, and had an odd odor coming from it.

As New Yorker’s we decided to seek a different experience for New Year’s Eve at Loews, so we rented a car and went to our neighboring city Philadelphia “Philly” known for its cheesesteak sandwich (we shall try this next time).

After carefully searching and wanting to experience the best, centrally located hotel, decided to book our stay at Loews. Upon entering the hotel, the check-in desk is not directly in front of you, instead, it is to the left and around a corner, also there is no sign indicating the check-in area (at least we didn’t see one) !!!

We were greeted warmly and cheerfully both by the doormen and by the team members at the reception. We were unable to receive the King suite we originally wanted instead were given a Double Bed due to no availability 🙁 Disappointed but not surprised because of New Year’s eve.

Tired from the drive from NYC to Philly, we couldn’t wait to get to the room and relax as we had a long night ahead of us.

The Hall way was nice and clean, upon entering we were surprised to see complimentary sweets and Bottle of Fiji water due to the inconvenience. It was a nice touch but as we entered into the room, the view made up for everything. We were staying at the 30th floor and the view was spectacular.

As I mention, main reason for choosing Loews Philadelphia was because of its central location, glad we did !!! When we left, we observed people looking for taxi left and right and the cold freezing weather did not help at all. We had a Friend who decided to take us to a special Restaurant for New Year’s Eve occasion. The Restaurant we went to was : Leziz Turkish Cuisine. The Restaurant was within walking distance to Lowes and a Must try. It’s Hidden Gem !!!

After our delicious meal, we enjoyed our walk to the Hotel. We were able to experience some amazing history of this great nation and really observe where it all began. The Liberty Bell, The First Postal office, walk the streets where the Forefather of US Constitution walked once, be able to experience this was really mind boggling.

We ended the night, said goodbye to our friend and enjoyed a great night sleep on this nice comfortable bed. We woke up and decided to order Room Service and experience the Bed & Breakfast at Loews. The Breakfast was just mouth watering and with that great view of the city made it even more enjoyable :-p

Fully satisfied, we now head out to some sightseeing that Philadelphia is famous for !!!

After Hours of sightseeing, actually running the Rocky Stairs back and forth, we became very hungry and decided to go visit Bahama Breeze !!! It was truly a wonderful experience while celebrating New Year (2014) here in the heart of Philadelphia. We were tempted to try out the Minibar, especially the snacks but we were fully stuffed with amazing food we had here in Philly. May All of you have a Happy and Healthy New Year.

This was our first stay at Hyatt Regency Vancouver, before I continue on, I would like to personally thank Brandi Lasanen; She handled all our request with perfection, provided us information that was very helpful to our stay and made our stay that more Enjoyable. We also met the General Manager (Ulrich Samiet) and will be posting Q&A Sessions we had as soon as I receive a complete response from him.

While other hotels do excel with beautiful grounds or views of oceans, valleys or mountains, the Hyatt Regency Vancouver is set on the heart of the city downtown Vancouver, surrounded by busy Vancouver traffic and pedestrians.

The location of the hotel is ideal; it is located next to the Burrard Skytrain and West Georgia Street, making it easily accessible.
The shopping mall connected to the hotel through its lobby, you also have Starbucks in the lobby for all those coffee lovers, and for those hungry late nighters you have access to McDonald which is open 24 hours and located right outside of Hyatt Main Entrance.

Room itself was immaculate and the views from the rooms of the harbor are very nice.The room was tastefully decorated with an extremely comfortable bed.The bathroom was typical but upscale, what was atypical was the shower. Instead of the traditional shower head, there was a square rainfall shower head in the ceiling which I thoroughly enjoyed, but I felt like it could use brighter lighting.

Hyatt Regency Vancouver has a Fitness Center which also has a Hot Tub + Pool. It provides Fresh Towels and state-of-the-art workout machines. It’s not a large space but it is very doable, however, I am told they will be expanding within this year.
