Let’s Taco about it: It is not often that one comes across a halal Mexican restaurant that has been published in the Wall Street Journal. When I read the article, I had to see for myself what the buzz was about. LaSiaf Tacos, is located in close proximity to Kings Plaza Mall in Brooklyn, on 2368 Flatbush Ave.

Wall Street Journal Talking about Halal Mexican Food

The restaurant has three owners which are from a South Asian descent. They wanted to make sure the Mexican flavors were authentic, yet infused with some South Asian spices. Considering Mexican food and South Asian food can both be spicy, this was a brilliant combination.

The atmosphere at LaSiaf is of a south-of-the-border theme and has ample seating. They have space in the front. If you’d like to watch your food. Being made or just for taking out the dining room in the back with large television screens. Which make it perfect for game night or a small party/ large crowd and a courtyard in the back perfect for the summer days.

LaSiaf has recently undergone management changes and with that a brand new menu which offers a great deal. Mexican food along with some comfort food as well. More so, LaSiaf has a chef, Juan, from Pueblo, Mexico, who brings his A-game with his seasonings.

The owners at La Siaf made sure that the customers get the full experience of Mexican food and are able to enjoy it the halal way. A lot of halal Mexican places often skim out because of its seasoning. The chef made sure to have the first bite of taco taste just as good as the last.

Lets Taco about it | Reviews And Suggestions

At my visit to LaSiaf. I wanted to try an array of food to see what they had to offer so I made sure to get a little bit of everything. I had three types of chicken wings (traditional b.b.q, chipotle, and hot wings), Gordo Taco (a deep fried outer shell with all the goodness inside), Chicken Tandoori

Taco (South Asian inspired flavors), Taco Salad, Chimichanga – steak (a deep fried burrito), Macho Nacho (for starters), Shrimp burrito, Taquitos, and Fried Sweet Plantains. Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish all of it but I was glad I had a bite of each!

After having my colossal meal I was so glad. I stopped by everything was fresh and the seasoning was on point with everything. I was shocked to have the chicken tandoori taco. The most popular item. The menu because it lived up to its name. I thought it would be bland and flavorless but I was wrong it had a great kick of spice and the meat was just right.

LaSiaf did a great job of infusing the two cultures together in their food. Needless to say, each dish was cooked just right, the steak was tender and juicy, and the meat was packed with flavors. I can finally have quality Mexican food that is halal and I don’t have to compromise on flavor at LaSiaf!
