Zahra’s Chinese Kitchen

Zahras Chinese Kitchen: Let me start by saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover “ … When we first arrived at Zahra’s Chinese Kitchen, our expectation went down due to the ambiance. However, we met with the owners – Two Brothers who decided to take a courageous step towards opening a First of its kind: Zabiha Halal Chinese Restaurant in Long Island. They hired two Chinese chefs; that bring in decades of cooking experience in making “Authentic American Chinese Food”. A unique opportunity for Muslims to experience the best of both world (Zabiha Halal Food cooked by Experience Chinese Chefs).

Review About Zahras Chinese Kitchen:

Overall Review of this place is that it’s a Hidden Gem of Long Island and should be a “Go-To” spot for all your Chinese Food cravings.  What makes this Restaurant different is the quality of the product used on the dishes and all meat prepped at the restaurant is Zabiha Halal meat (hand slaughter, cage-free & organic). You will not get this on most Halal or Non-Halal Chinese restaurant. A HUGE PLUS!!!

We ordered the following: General Tso Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Kung Pao Delight & Fried / Steam Dumplings.

First, I would give 5/5 on the Dumplings. They were awesome and we all finished it before we could even review it for our video. I think someone should have a “Dumpling Eating Contest”.

Next, we tried General Tso Chicken + Sesame Chicken ( 4/5 )we enjoyed the fresh flavor, perfect blend of sweet and spicy & the way it was cooked. It did not have the thick coating like Halal Dynasty or Fatima Halal Kitchen have most of the time.

The Kung Pao was good but not great maybe because it was somewhat sweeter than it should have been (3/5).

My wife tried the Mongolian Beef from the uncle’s plate who’s on our review video. She said it was very different from other halal Chinese spots in New York City. The meat was cooked perfectly, not chew and seasoning was very flavorful. (5/5)
